Geographically
Rajasthan is the largest state in
the North-western part of India.
Rajasthan is surrounded by Pakistan
at its west, Gujarat to the southwest,
Madhya Pradesh to the southeast,
Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to the
northeast and Punjab to the north.

The capital of
Rajasthan is ‘Jaipur’.
Rajasthan was initially called as
Rajputana i.e. the state of Rajputs.
Some of the geographical features
in Rajasthan are the Thar Desert,
Ghaggar River, one of the oldest
mountain ranges – Aravalli,
famous hill station – Mount
Abu and Dilwara Temples.
